Dating a cop with kids

I dont want to talk about work when I am not working, and don't want to be introduced as the "cop".....bothers me and irritates me to the core. Remember- in the beginning phases of a relationship- it always seems like "love".It is probably not- it is probably LUST...you are some how inadvertently attracted to the mysteriousness, or the sexual appeal you somehow probably don't even realize you get by being with him. and when reality sets in, you will then have to make a decision yourself. there is only reality, and the reality stinks a lot of the time. Thank you beowulf_7 it's very new to me my father and 2 brothers are officers so I see how it is and what it's like but to actually be dating one and starting our family seems rough but I'm handling it. previous shift gets to stay so there are officers on the street. The benefits are usually not of a monetary value or of a tangible quality. Does everything I've listed happen to ever officer? Alos, sharing details about him being shot at, or stabbed.... I am certain he wouldn't want you saying that to anyone, nor discussing it.... one of them putting me out of work for almost 3 months between actual hospitalization, bed rest, and light duty with physical therapy. They get an adrenaline rush on the job quite often of the type that most people may only get a couple of times in their lifetime. In the end, understanding is the biggest thing that officers are looking for from the spouses for family activities that would get cancelled at the last minute. No one outside of law enforcement will EVER EVER understand our job, our passion, or our sacrifice. They may have some sympathy, they may be huge supporters...no one truly understands, and myself and everyone here with that pretty little shiny thing understands it all to well. There are likely a lot of officers on here, myself included, that have been "shot at " OR in the fight of their lives, stabbed, vehicle wreck from a pursuit or call, or the like. Just last year alone I was hospitalized a total of the three times for work related injuries...

you work what your told to work, and you deal with it. Be worry free- you chose him, and chose to be with him.And what about those Police Husbands who’s wives are the thin blue line? An officer’s job is summed up with “To serve and protect.” Your date will be looking out for the innocent and making citizens feel safe and secure. You’ll be dating someone who many consider to be a hero. Police officers are able to problem solve quickly and don’t freeze or panic in emergency situations.
